Premium “Zoo Doo” Compost!

Want to get ahead of your gardening for the winter and next spring?  The zoo is selling premium exotic compost by the scoop, bag or bucket.  The Lee Richardson Zoo will be offering its special blend of “Zoo Doo” compost Saturday morning, October 15, from 9:00 AM until noon.  Most of the animal collection contributes to this high quality compost, including rhinos, giraffe, antelope, camels, bison, and others.  The compost is a mixture of exotic animal manure, food waste, and bedding, which is processed by the zoo’s maintenance division.  The end result is a dry, lightweight, high quality soil amendment which Another satisfied customer.improves the aeration of your soil, reduces compaction, and adds important micronutrients to tired soil to help plants thrive. 


The compost will be sold bagged in compostable bags,or by the “Bobcat” scoop loaded into your truck or trailer.  Staff will be on hand to Bucket load of compost.load bags or scoops directly into your vehicle (trunk, truck or trailer).  Bags are $5 (for ~45 pounds) while a scoop is $20.  Appointments can also be scheduled Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:30pm to 4pm.  Just call the zoo at
