The Lee Richardson Zoo is seeking a General Curator. This position is responsible for the living collection, including animal health and welfare, collection planning, selecting and supervising animal care personnel, communicating effectively with staff and collaborative partners, assisting with exhibit design, general operations and other management issues. The General Curator also oversees permits, animal records, and animal division budget. The position reports to the Zoo Director. A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and three to five years progressive responsibilities in exotic animal care and management plus two to three years supervisory experience in an AZA accredited or similar institution preferred.
The ideal candidate will have strong team leadership and management skills, a positive attitude, the capability to multitask, and excellent communication skills. Salary range is $39,648 - $62,483 with a competitive benefit package.
